My other blog

Hey, hey, hey guys!

Hi!

Today is Saturday, my second favourite day of the week. My most favourite day is Sunday. Well, anyways... I have been reading many books at the same time. Well, not literally, but you get my drift. ☺ lol, literally. 😊 How do you get or catch a drift? Well, let's stick to the subject. Haha. I'm sooo funny.

I have been thinking about posting a list kind of thing here, interrogatingmy bookshelves. I got the idea from another page,

Book Riot

I'll get back to it later.

Hello, hello, hello! 😊

Hi there!

I'm back so soon, I surprised myself lol...

How are you, dear readers? That's a rethorical question, you don't need to answer that. You may, if you want of course 😊Suddenly my blogging inspiration is back. I hope it's going to stay... I just loo looove blogging. I could seriously make my living by blogging. One huge obstacle is the problem that I love to write in three different languages... That's a really tricky problem. It sucks. Seriously. Well, let's not dwell on the negative things, but embrace the diversity. 😁

Books. Yes, that is what this blog is all about. Books, books and more books...

I was thinking of doing a few "challenges" or "prompts" as the youtubers say... Tune in for that and more, later in this blog.

I've been busy -reading - of course. And travelling, spending time with my Dad. I went on a trip with my Dad yesterday and today. I had a lot of time to read. I brought with me six  (!) books on the cruise. I only read a few pages in two books. Maybe 100 pages. I have noticed that I am a slow reader and I want to savour every word. It's best for me to absorb everything. Well, I guess you could do it quickly, but I like to save the book, so that it doesn't just rush by, all the words like a stream of consciousness. Well, what a cliche... I'm just a one basket short of a picnic when it comes to writing "creatively" lol. That's what you get. My life is just a big cliché. LoL. Not.

Hmm, aren't I in a contemplating mood today? Oh, fudge, all I can think of is more clichés. One thing I learned at the University of Stockholm is that you have to innovative, write your own clichés, your own kind of "style" and stick out from the crowd.

What would my favourite teachers say now? Probably they would still give me bad/low grades. The only two subjects in senior high school that I wanted to excel in were English and Music. At the University of Stockholm, I sailed through the first semester of English, except it be for one exam. But I did get through it a few years later.

Oops, this isn't so much about books,  but about English and my studies. Sorry!
Well , I guess I'mdone for this time. Sorry.

Let's start at the very beginning...

Hello!

I'm going to start with one of my favorite books : Orange is the new black. Written by Piper Kerman. I'm currently re-reading it. It's amazing. Also it's very different than the series on Netflix...

What interested me in the beginning was the prison life. When I was 17, I was in a hospital for eight months... I had little freedom. It was in many ways like a prison. People lied, formed friendships but didn't always get along perfectly. It was a very unique experience and also a really hard one.

What I love about the book is the humour and the realness of the experiences. No fake account of life in prison. I get sometimes so frustrated with the "system" and I have been playing with the thought to write to the adresses at the end of the book and make a stand against the horrible things that are caused by the management of the prisons in the states. Compared to Finnish jail, it's barbaric. Just as the experiences described in Girl, Interrupted by Susauna Kaysen, about a mental institution on the East coast of the states, the conditions are horrid. I hope that everyone who reads these books will want to change the conditions in both jails and hospitals all over the western world. Not to mention the conditions in other parts of the world. We have surely been blessed here in Finland, where it's almost like a holiday to go to jail. That's not that good either. At least we have good health care and not the astronomically expensive hospital bills that I have heard of in the United States.

Well, what do I really know about these things? I have been watching the news, some documents and of course read the true stories about Susauna and Piper. I'm not an expert, I'm just very interested in these things.

Bye for now!

A new bookish beginning...

Hi there!

Sooo... I was thinking about starting a new blog, all about my favoritebooks... I'm fairly active on Goodreads and I'm crazy about books.  I usually read many books at the same time. This blog is going to be only about the books I have read, am currently reading and books I plan to read. I hope you enjoy this blog.
